Organize Your Closet for 2010
Posted on January 8th, 2010 No commentsHello!
With winter upon us, it’s time to pull out nice, warm clothes to keep us cozy. With that in mind, I thought I would share a few simple tips to help you clean out your clothes closet and organize your clothes so you can find what you need quickly.
If you are one of those that piles your clothes up in a corner or your clothes never quite get put away you may want to read this. Organizing your clothes is not only an easy process, but will surprise you with the peace of mind you will get by just organizing this one part of your life.
• Be honest about what you will really wear. Part with clothing that doesn’t fit, doesn’t look good or you just plain don’t like anymore-it’s ok, let it go! Keeping all those clothes isn’t going to help your home organization goals…
• Remove any items that need repairs or dry cleaning and get them taken care of as soon as possible. Take them right on out to the car.
• Part with clothes that are ripped, torn or stained. Even if they are comfortable, you can wear something else that is more flattering and yet still comfy!
• Place the same type of clothing together in your closet: short sleeve with short sleeve, jeans with jeans, dresses with dresses, etc. This will make it easy to put an outfit together in the morning without digging! Please visit my site to read about my own personal closet disaster:
Happy Organizing!

Interior Painting
Posted on January 8th, 2010 No commentsThere is a variety of reasons people decide to paint the interior of their homes. Some do it for decor reasons, and others do it because things are starting to look dull and worn. No matter what your reasons for interior painting, there are a few things you should know before you attempt to do this on your own. The benefits of doing it yourself is mainly about saving a lot of money. Take some precautions for safety of those in the home and also be aware of how much you are spending.
Before you start interior painting in any room, you should have it cleared out. You can pile things in the middle of the room if clearing things out is not an option, but having the room empty is a good idea. You should get some good drop sheets so that any spills or drips are caught before hitting the floor. You may think you are going to be careful, but you do not know what will happen. If you do not have a lot of space and have to put everything in the middle of the room, make sure you cover everything completely to avoid having to buy new furniture as well.
Make sure surfaces are clean before you start interior painting. This might mean you have to do some scrubbing, but it is going to make the difference between a good job and one that looks awkward in many places. After you have cleaned and dried your surfaces, you can begin your interior painting, but make sure you pay attention to the details. Cut in and paint all of the hard spots with a brush that you can not get to with a roller first, and make sure you learn to make even strokes. It is always a good idea to apply a second coat.
